At a time of constant and monumental change in health care locally, at the state level, and nationally through the passage and implementation of the Affordable Care Act, Brigham and Women’s and Faulkner Hospitals are proactively preparing to rise to future challenges through a major strategic planning initiative.
“No one knows precisely how reform will change the health care landscape, except to say that we will be asked to do more with fewer resources,” said BW/F President Betsy Nabel, MD. “This will have far-reaching implications and will touch each one of us across the organization as we carry on the important work we do every day.”
At the Dec. 7 Town Meeting, Nabel shared the final recommendations of the BW/F Strategic Plan that have been approved by the Board of Trustees. This issue of BWH Bulletin is dedicated to detailing the seven strategic commitment areas of the plan. The strategic plan will be released soon as a print publication entitled “Discovery and Innovation: Working Together to Provide Superior Health Care.”
